The aim of this interdisciplinary course is to familiarize the participants with latest technical, business and design implications of new energy trends and technical and business potentials they offer. After taking this course the participants are to conduct technological and business analysis to evaluate the feasibility of innovations, in particular in new and renewable energy (solar) regime. More importantly, through the group project they are able expected to implement the knowledge in practice by developing a product or a service based on solar power in an interdisciplinary and international group. The participants are encouraged to developa real product or a service
Trawlers need to be prepared for week-long fishing trips, with related costs often exceeding US$1,400 a trip. Fishermen prepares necessary arrangements for their boats , patch works for nets, dumping sufficient ice in cold storages, sparing diesel oil, cooking provisions etc. This journey will carry about two weeks of time.
These boats can go upto 20 kilometers from the shore with a nominal storage without ice. Fishermen go deep in the sea with mechanized boats / fibre boats / trawlers need full equipment i.e. ice, diesel, hooks, cooking preparations etc.
The major challenge for the long trip a boat usually faced is the shortage of Ice /cooling systems.
Our aim is to design solar cooling systems suitable for the boat. Some picture s are attached below.
